A week a month on the slasher
Acreage mowing on a Northern Rivers hobby farm eats a week a month. An autonomous mower, mapped once, gives most of it back. Wet ground stays yours.

How much time does acreage mowing take on a Northern Rivers hobby farm?
For most owners it's about a week a month, every month, because the grass here never stops. An autonomous mower mapped once and run to a schedule gives most of that week back, with wet corners and tight edges still needing a person.
There is a particular kind of property owner in the Northern Rivers. Enough acreage that the mowing is real work. Not enough to justify a full time groundsperson. So every month, a week disappears onto the slasher.
Horse properties. Hobby farms. Agistment blocks. Holiday parks. Big rural home blocks that looked romantic at purchase. The pattern is the same, the grass grows every month of a northern NSW year, and somebody has to sit on a machine while it gets cut. Usually the owner. Usually on the weekend.
An autonomous mower changes the shape of that. The machine gets the property mapped once, then works to a schedule. It mows in the heat while you are at work. It mows at night, the navigation does not need daylight. It comes back to its dock, charges, and goes again. All electric, so it is quiet enough that the neighbours will not know, and there is no fuel run, no oil, no belts.
The honest limits, because we always lead with those. Genuinely boggy, waterlogged ground is out, saturated soil gives the tyres nothing and no autonomous mower belongs there, so wet corners stay on your tractor or wait for the dry. Tight fiddly edges around structures still want a person occasionally. And a robot on your property deserves proper setup, mapped boundaries, no-go zones around dams and stock, sensible scheduling. That setup is the difference between a machine that works and an expensive ornament, and it is the part we do.
What you get back is the week. Every month. Which over a year is nearly three months of weekends.

Common questions
Can an autonomous mower handle a hobby farm in the Northern Rivers?
Yes, if the ground is sound. The machine gets mapped once, then works to a schedule, day or night. Plan on about 8 acres (3 hectares) a day, not more.
Does a robot mower work on wet or boggy ground?
No. Waterlogged ground is mapped out as a no-go zone, not driven through. Those corners stay on your tractor or wait for the dry.
Will it mow around posts, sheds and fence lines on its own?
Mostly. Close-in work around posts and edges is 60 to 70 percent autonomous. A person does the rest, occasionally.
Is it safe around stock and dams?
Boundaries and no-go zones around dams, stock and structures get mapped at setup. That setup is the part we do, and it's the difference between a machine that works and an expensive ornament.
When can I get one on my property?
