AutoAcre was founded by Ben Bonifant — a former carpenter and landscaper who spent years operating ride-on mowers on properties across the Northern Rivers. He saw the gap, and he built something better.
From ride-on mower to autonomous fleet
Before AutoAcre, Ben ran a traditional mowing service across the Northern Rivers hinterland — a 72-inch zero-turn, a reliable ute, and a fortnightly schedule. Good work, honest rate.
But the same pattern kept playing out. Between visits, properties didn't look their best. Holiday rental guests arrived to long grass. Absentee owners had no idea what their property looked like until they drove up on Friday evening. Fortnightly just wasn't enough for acreage that deserved better.
The answer wasn't more visits — it was daily mowing. And the only way to make daily mowing affordable on acreage was to take the operator off the machine.
AutoAcre was born. Ben partnered with PANDAG to bring commercial-grade autonomous mowing to the Northern Rivers — starting with the lifestyle properties he knows best, and scaling to councils, schools, and estates across the region.
